Lautaro Martinez summed up Inter Milan's "ravenous" performance against Parma in Serie A late in stoppage time.
Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInter1908, highlight the Nerazzurri captain's intense defensive effort.
It would not be unfair to say that Martinez broadly had a night to forget yesterday.
The 27-year-old failed to get on the scoresheet despite no lack of trying.
Martinez's impact in the final third was just not what he'd hoped. He did not look particularly sharp around the Parma penalty area.
For Inter as a whole, though, it was a very positive evening.
The Nerazzurri quite deservedly won the match 3-1.
The goals came courtesy of Federico Dimarco, Nicolo Barella, and Martinez's strike partner Marcus Thuram.
This was further evidence that Inter can find goals from any player on the pitch.
But even if Martinez was not able to find the back of the net, he still had a big role to play in the team performance that got his teammates in positions to do so.
The Inter captain did have quite a few moments of fine linkup play. His eagerness to show for the ball, understanding of the movements in the 3-5-2 formation, and technical quality helped out.
And just as importantly, Martinez helped out defensively.
The Argentine is always the player who sets the tone for the Nerazzurri's relentless collective effort against the ball.
In the end, it was Martinez who tracked back to win the ball in midfield in the 94th minute of play.
