Downtown Redevelopment Authority looks to rehabilitate former Potter Opera House - WNKY News 40 Television

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Downtown Redevelopment Authority is looking to buy and rehabilitate a historic building in downtown Bowling Green.

903 College Street, once the Potter Opera House, Bowling Green Bank and more is a key part of Fountain Square, and now the DRA is looking to bring it back to its former glory.

You can see some renderings provided to us by the DRA of what the area might look like in the future above.

This is the 3rd major project the DRA has worked on in the last decade, including Circus Square Park & 601 State Street, currently home to La Gala.

Director Ron Murphy says the nonprofit is not asking for donations to help with this project, since they already have everything they need... he simply wants the public's support.

"We're doing everything we're big enough to do. We're committed... and all I ask is that the public join with DRA and just give them their moral and whatever support they can give to us," he says.

The plan for this building is to repurpose the original facade while adding potential office space, a parking garage, event space and public restrooms to accommodate activities in Fountain Square.
