KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - On Thursday night, crews with the Knoxville Fire Department responded to a commercial fire at the Fort Loudon Recycling and Waste facility.
In May 2019, a fire at that same facility burned for days, forcing more than 100 people to evacuate the area.

Rachel Norman lives near the facility and was evacuated during the first fire.
"It's a shame that as part of a neighborhood, we have to be concerned about protecting our homes," Norman said.
Norman said the most recent fire continues to shed a negative light on the neighborhood.
"I love where I live, and I want to love where I live, and I want to welcome in other families," Norman said. "They are not going to do that if they still have that kind of garbage floating behind their homes."
Assistant Fire Chief Mark Wilbanks said the property has gone primarily unused since that fire five years ago.
He said that people who aren't supposed to be on the property continue to be there.
Another woman living in the Oakwood-Lincoln Park area, Amy Godsey, said this just added to a list of concerns.
"That was scary because our houses could have been gone," Godsey said. "If they are going to run that place, they need to have security at all times. That place ain't safe, it ain't safe for kids, pollution comes from there."
