Sophia Reynolds delivered a standout five-goal, three-assist performance as 13th-seeded Camden Catholic defeated 20th-seeded Pope John, 17-2, in the first round of the NJSIAA Non-Public tournament in Cherry Hill.

The Irish (11-8) wasted no time establishing control, jumping out to a commanding 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Camden Catholic continued its offensive onslaught with three more goals in the second quarter and five in the third before closing out the game with two final scores in the fourth.

Abbie Brown contributed significantly to the Irish victory with three goals and two assists while collecting a team-high four ground balls. Katherine Gillern added one goal and two assists while dominating draw controls with eight wins.

Pope John (11-8) was held scoreless until the fourth quarter, when Olivia Zywicki and Keira Donegan each found the net once. Donegan also collected four draw controls in the loss.

Camden Catholic goalkeeper Maggie O'Brien made four saves while allowing just two goals. On the opposite end, Pope John's Kendall Weiss recorded 18 saves despite facing big-time pressure from the Irish attack.

With the victory, Camden Catholic advances to face fourth-seeded Trinity Hall, which received an opening-round bye in the tournament.
