Live: Columbus Crew tied vs Club Leon in Leagues Cup match after early goal overturned

The Crew remain in a scoreless tie after one half of play against Liga MX's Club Leon on Aug. 5 at Lower.com Field.

Less than five minutes into the game, the Crew seemingly scored off a shot from midfielder Max Arfsten following a free kick. The goal was overturned once a review determined defender Malte Amundsen was offside during the scoring play.

After the overturned goal, the teams combined for only nine shots taken in the first half. The Crew's three shots on target were all taken by forward Diego Rossi, who was denied on all occasions by Leon goalkeeper Oscar Jimenez.

The Crew are looking to improve on their four points and move up from their sixth-place standing among MLS teams in the tournament in this final game of group play. Only the top four teams from each league advance to the quarterfinals.

If the Crew move into a top-four slot in the MLS standings, they could be waiting until Aug. 7 to know if the ranking will hold, as they are one of the first teams playing their final group-stage game.
