Michigan State basketball saw a nice jump in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll released on Monday.

The Spartans moved up six spots to No. 19 in the updated rankings for this week. Michigan State entered the top 25 last week at No. 25, and after another strong week of hoops they moved up inside the top 20.

Michigan State picked up a pair of blowout wins this past week to improve to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play. The Spartans will be off this week and return to the court next Tuesday against Oakland.

The Spartans are one of six teams from the Big Ten ranked this week. The other ranked Big Ten teams are Purdue (No. 11), Oregon (No. 12), Michigan (No. 14), UCLA (No. 21), and Wisconsin (No. 22).
