BRAZIL have confirmed that Arsenal defender, Gabriel, is out of the squad for their game against Tunisia on Tuesday due to an adductor injury.

The centre-back went off just before the hour-mark in Brazil's friendly against Senegal on Saturday.

"Arsenal player Gabriel Magalhães was re-evaluated on Sunday and underwent imaging tests that revealed a muscle injury in his right thigh," the Brazil federation said in a statement. "Therefore, the player will not travel with the team to the match against Tunisia in Lille. No other player will be called up to replace him."

The injury will come as a huge blow to Arsenal, whose title charge this season has been driven by Gabriel's performances at the back. He has been the lynchpin of a defence that has conceded just five goals in 11 Premier League games. The centre-back also has three goal involvements, including a late winner away to Newcastle United in September.

The injury puts Gabriel's involvement in their north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur after the international break at risk.

A second Arsenal defender, Riccardo Calafiori, was also withdrawn from international duty with Italy due to injury, manager Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed. Italy, who play their final World Cup qualification match against Norway on Sunday, will be without the full-back after Gattuso said it would not be "fair" on him or Arsenal to play.

"Calafiori left the training camp," Gattuso told Sky Sports Italia. "We tried Calafiori, he had a few issues. I thank him for his commitment: he stayed here for a week, he could have played perhaps, but it wouldn't have been fair to him or Arsenal. We'll see who plays between [Gianluca] Mancini and [Alessandro] Buongiorno."

Arsenal, who are top of the Premier League table with 26 points, play Tottenham Hotspur in the season's first north London derby on Nov. 23. Calafiori's injury will come as a blow to Arsenal, who are already without Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Victor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke and Kai Havertz. -Soccernet.com

CONOR Benn dominated Chris Eubank Jr to win their rematch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Benn added the final flourish to a controlled performance, sending Eubank down to the canvas twice in the 12th and final round. He took a unanimous decision victory to conclude their rivalry, winning 119-107, 118-108 and 116-110.

Eubank Jr and Conor Benn built up a rivalry of their own as they followed in the footsteps of their famous fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr, whose saga lit up British boxing in the 1990s.

Animosity has festered between Conor Benn and Eubank Jr themselves. After Benn returned an anti-doping violation their first fight was called off when it was originally due to take place in 2022. Once Benn's suspension in the UK was lifted, and they set the fight for April of this year, Eubank slapped him with an egg to goad him further.

Eubank's relationship with his father had publicly fractured but after a private reconciliation, Senior made a surprise appearance at the first fight, joining his son for an iconic ringwalk. Eubank went on to score a points victory in their first fight that left Benn looking for his revenge and Eubank hoping to win even more convincingly second time around.

Eubank, who struggled with the weight and the rehydration clause ahead of the last fight, looked in fine condition for this rematch but his boxing became increasingly flat and tired as the rounds progressed. He didn't rush in the first round, trying jabs, dabbing a right cross out and moving from side to side.

In the final 30 seconds, Eubank managed to wade onto the front foot. He put himself in the firing line, driving his right cross down on Benn.

Late on in the fight, Benn still boxed dynamically, keeping his shape as he threw. Eubank slugged with him in patches, winging punches in. -Skysports
