Superstar Rajinikanth, who has recently wrapped up shooting for Coolie under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj, is gearing up for its grand theatrical release on August 14, 2025. With a powerhouse ensemble cast including Akkineni Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, and Upendra, the action-packed drama has generated immense buzz.

In the meantime, the actor is currently working on his highly anticipated sequel, Jailer 2, helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film also has an impressive star cast of SJ Suryah, Shiva Rajkumar, and veteran Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna in pivotal roles.

Following this film, it is reported that Rajinikanth may soon collaborate with the renowned Telugu production house, Mythri Movie Makers. The buzz is that he might join hands with Tollywood young filmmaker Vivek Athreya, who is well-known for hits like Brochevarevura, Ante Sundaraniki, and Saripodha Sanivaram.

While discussions are still ongoing, if Athreya successfully impresses the superstar with its script and his narration, the project would go on to the floors soon after the completion of Jailer 2. Mythri Movie Makers, who recently garnered a blockbuster hit with Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly, are expected to back up the project. An official confirmation from the team is still awaited.
