Former Amadeus Exec Gutz to Take CEO Reins at Onyx CenterSource

Hospitality payment technology provider Onyx CenterSource has named former Amadeus executive Scott Gutz as its new president and CEO when longtime CEO Mark Dubrow retires next month, the company announced. Onyx facilitates payments among travel suppliers and also offers technology that recovers agency commissions.

Most recently CEO of employment service provider Monster Worldwide, Gutz was with Amadeus IT Group for 17 years, including serving as president and CEO of Amadeus North America until 2018. He was selected for the Onyx leadership position for his "global experience with B2B outsourced technology solutions, travel and hospitality services and business transformation," Onyx board member and FitzWater Capital cofounder Hayden Jones said in a statement. "Scott is deeply invested in developing client relationships, expanding Onyx's footprint and investing in Onyx's payment and service capabilities, which were critical factors in selecting the company's next leader."

Gutz will join Onyx on Sept. 16; Dubrow's retirement is effective Sept. 30, and he will remain with the company on its board of directors. The two will work together for a "smooth transition," according to the company.

Dubrow has led Onyx since its spinoff from what was then Pegasus Solutions in 2013. The company operated as Onyx Payments for a few years and later rebranded as Onyx CenterSource as it incorporated acquisitions including Net Trans Services and Worldwide Payment Systems.

The Dallas-based Onyx reports facilitating more than $2 billion in payments each year in partnership with more than 150,000 hotel properties and 200,000 travel booking providers
