Oregon SNAP benefits returning to normal as government shutdown ends

PORTLAND, Ore. -- With the government shutdown over, the Oregon Department of Human Services said the SNAP food assistance are returning to normal.

The state is waiting on updates from federal partners, but a message on the state's website said things are working normally again.

If you were approved for SNAP on or about November 7, the state said you will get your benefits on November 14. December benefits are expected to be on schedule.

DHS officials say anyone currently on or looking to get SNAP benefits should keep applying, renewing, and reporting changes. You can find out more on how to do that here.
