A news release issued by the Rochester Fire Department says crews responded to the blaze shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Responding fire crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of a trailer that was attached to a semi truck.

The fire broke out at the Seneca Foods plant at 308 20th St. Southeast. Upon arrival firefighters began attacking the body of the fire to try and prevent it from spreading.

The fire was put out before it spread to the nearby buildings, the news release says.

One of the responding firefighters suffered minor injuries caused by the slippery conditions during the frigid firefight, officials say.

An ambulance crew evaluated the firefighter and cleared them to return to duty, the fire department says.
