CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) -- Liberty Brew and Vines Restoration, Plumbing & HVAC hosted an event that offered free coffee to all veterans and first responders on Friday.

"Patriot Week is about more than remembrance -- it's about honoring, encouraging, and uniting our community," said Julie Marlowe, president of Vines Restoration, Plumbing & HVAC. "These events are our way of giving back and saying thank you to the heroes who protect and serve."

Organizers said the event was designed to recognize local first responders and show appreciation for veterans and military service members.

The event was free to attend and held at Liberty Brew from 10 a.m. to noon.

"The veterans served us, so we feel it's important to give back to the community and do something nice for them," said Anthony Steadman with Liberty Brew.
