Apple MacBook Air reaches 'lowest ever' price in time for students' new term - Daily Record

With many students heading back to college or university, there's never been a better time to invest in a brand new laptop for work and play.

Sky has a new Apple MacBook Air deal to help people spread the cost without needing to pay the full £999 to buy the device outright. It's selling the device for £20 a month with a £2 upfront cost -- the cheapest it has ever been after being dropped from £22 a month.

That means over the 48-month contract period, shoppers will pay £962 which is slightly cheaper than the RRP of the 13-inch MacBook Air if shoppers were to buy it in full, ideal for students who want to spread out the cost.

As we mentioned, this is a 48-month contract but Sky does give buyers the chance to swap their device after 36 months. Sky also offers the laptop in a variety of colours to choose from including Midnight, Silver, Starlight and Sky Blue.

The Apple MacBook Air is one of the best laptops on the market today and is perfect for iOS users who want power and productivity all-in-one. It comes with Apple's powerful M4 chip, which promises smooth performance for all your needs, boasting up to 18 hours of battery life and built-in Apple Intelligence to help users accomplish tasks effortlessly.

It also has a big 13-inch Liquid Retina display with bright colours - perfect for videos and light gaming. It also has Touch ID baked into the device for quick and easy access.

But for those that don't want to invest in Apple devices or to spend as much, there's plenty of other options to buy. Currys is selling the Galaxy Book4 for £299 as part of a new deal. It comes with stellar reviews but isn't as powerful as the MacBook we mentioned.

There's also the bargain Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for £179 from Argos, also with great reviews, and it comes with a year of Microsoft 365 Personal for students who need the apps.

When it comes to the MacBook Air, there's stellar reviews from buyers. One shopper said: "Phenomenal laptop with much more power than I need.

"This is my first Apple laptop and without a doubt the best laptop I've ever owned. I've been in the Apple ecosystem for several years, but never considered the MacBook Air."

Another reviewer said: "The new m4 MacBook Air is truly a powerhouse, just about anything you throw at it, it'll handle with ease. For such a thin computer, and this thing is thin.

"It never overheats, is never loud, and is as portable as your personal mobile device." However, the same reviewer noted the lack of connectivity with the device.

They added: "The only drawback is the lack of available ports, but I suppose that's the sacrifice you make for the compact and discreet design."
