Mercedes E-Class Price Drops by ₹5.2 Lakh After GST Cut, Best Time to Buy - Times Bull

Mercedes E-Class: Mercedes-Benz India has marked the first anniversary of its best-selling luxury sedan, the E-Class LWB, in a unique manner. Thanks to recent GST reforms, the sedan has become cheaper. Consumers are now reaping a direct benefit of up to ₹5.2 lakh, making this luxury car more appealing in its segment. Particularly with the festive season around the corner, the new prices have boosted its appeal among Indian customers.

The E-Class is now offered with new ex-showroom prices. The E200 petrol variant is priced at ₹78.5 lakh, while the E220d diesel variant is priced at ₹80.5 lakh. The range-topping E450 4MATIC AMG Line variant costs ₹91.7 lakh. This substantial reduction makes the E-Class more competitive within the luxury sedans category in the Indian market.

In addition to the price cut, Mercedes has also launched a new outer color choice named Verde Silver. This new update has been released as part of the E-Class's first anniversary celebration. The firm feels that the addition of a new chic color and a reduced price will add to the premium image of the sedan while making it a better value-for-money option for Indian buyers.

The E-Class LWB has been engineered with chauffeur-driven usage in mind. The rear seats can be reclined with thigh support, provided with soft pillows, and sunblinds for added comfort. Passengers also receive an advanced MBUX Superscreen setup with two screens, a premium Burmester 4D surround sound with Dolby Atmos, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. These create the sedan a real combine of luxury and comfort.

As far as safety is concerned, Mercedes has loaded the E-Class with 8 airbags, including a centre airbag -- something seen in India for the very first time. It also features Blind Spot Assist and the Mercedes PRE-SAFE system, which add to the safety of passengers along with the confidence in driving.

Mercedes sells the E-Class in three engine options, all with mild-hybrid technology. The petrol option E200 churns out 204hp, while the diesel option E220d churns out 197hp. The high-performance E450 AMG Line model has a 3.0L petrol engine that churns out 381hp and is available with an all-wheel-drive setup, which provides a robust performance on all types of road.
