Children can now do virtual visits with pediatricians affiliated with its Atrium Health's Levine Children's network.
The virtual practice is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily to North Carolina families.
The visits are done by video. The pediatrician will review the child's medical history and ask the child to move around, speak or perform simple tasks.
After this part of the visit, the child may leave, allowing parents time to ask questions and discuss the child's development, behavior, nutrition, sleep, mental health and more.
At the end of the discussion, a brief in-person follow-up visit will be scheduled at a nearby in-person pediatric practice for another doctor to conduct a brief physical exam and provide vaccinations or order lab work as needed.
Virtual visits compatible with desktop computers, laptops, smartphones or tablets.
To schedule a visit, go to atriumhealth.org/medical-services/childrens-services and click on pediatric telehealth visits.
