Considering Barcelona fans are viewing Lamine Yamal as the club's next Messiah, it perhaps comes as no surprise to hear reports that the Spanish wonderkid is set to inherit Lionel Messi's iconic number 10 Barcelona shirt.
Despite being just 17-years-old, Yamal has emerged as one of the best players on the planet, and is even reportedly in the running for the 2025 Ballon d'Or.
Similarities between Messi and Yamal have been drawn ever since the latter burst onto the scene in 2024, and given the current Barcelona number 10 barely plays for the club, the news that Yamal is set to inherit Messi's shirt just feels right.
The report, which comes from Memorabilia1899.co, states that Yamal will wear the shirt from the start of the 2025/26 La Liga season, regardless of what happens to current number 10 wearer Ansu Fati, who may well leave the Catalan side this summer.
The report goes on to state that Yamal will officially inherit the shirt when he turns 18 on July 13, 2025. The winger will also sign an historic new contract on the same date.
Yamal himself confirmed in January of this year that he will be signing a new deal on his 18th birthday, which will include a astronomic €1 billion release clause, which is a lot of money.

Barcelona fans will of course be hoping Yamal will be able to replicate the success of Lionel Messi in the number 10 shirt, and if the early stages of his career are anything to go by, we may well be looking at the next contender in the greatest of all time debate.
If you want a shirt for yourself, keep July 13 in mind, although given Yamal's star power, they might not be in stock for very long.
