The New York Yankees have stayed relatively quiet to start the offseason, but that doesn't mean their rivals have done the same.
The Bronx Bombers are waiting for Juan Soto to make his free-agent decision before making any big moves. The superstar is expected to sign sometime soon, and the rest of the free-agent market is set to follow.
The rest of the American League East have stayed busy though. A number of free agents have found new teams inside the most competitive division in the sport.

Tyler O'Neill
The largest contract given out to a player in the AL East so far was to the former Boston Red Sox player. The outfielder agreed to a three-year, $49.5 million deal with the Baltimore Orioles, according to Mark Feinsand. O'Neill hit 31 home runs in 2024 and is likely to replace Anthony Santander in the team's outfield.
Gary Sanchez
The former Yankees' catcher made his return to the AL East as well. He signed a one-year contract with the Orioles to be the team's backup to Adley Rutschman. Sanchez batted .220 with 11 homers and 37 runs batted in with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2024.
Danny Jansen
Jansen split time between the Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays last season. He then signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays to take over as their starting catcher. Jansen had a down year in 2024 but his 92 games played were the second most in a season throughout his career.
Aroldis Chapman
Another former Yankee returned to the division to join his seventh career team. Chapman signed a one-year deal with the Red Sox. The flame-throwing lefty struck out 98 batters across 68 appearances for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2024.
