NFL Faces Serious Backlash Over Eagles-Packers Broadcast Decision

NFL fans are still getting used to the era of streaming exclusives.

On Friday night, the Philadelphia Eagles faced off against the Green Bay Packers in a historic international matchup in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Unfortunately, traditional cable users are unable to tune in for the primetime Week 1 contest. The game is being broadcast exclusively on Peacock, NBC's paid streaming service.

NFL fans flooded social media with backlash over this controversial broadcast decision.

"So now the NFL wants everyone to get Peacock to see games? As if YouTube TV isn't enough? Goodell and the owners are so damn greedy. I'm not doing it," one fan wrote.

"Waited 6 months for the nfl season to start just for peacock to ruin the first game..." another added.

"Americans shouldn't have to download Peacock to watch an NFL game on a Friday night," another said.

"Chances of me buying Peacock to let the NFL squeeze another penny out of me....." another wrote.

Unfortunately for football fans, streaming-exclusive NFL games are simply the new reality.
