Emmerdale shock ahead as Gabby decides her future with Vinny

Emmerdale airs a major turning point for troubled couple Vinny Dingle and Gabby Thomas next week. While Gabby has vowed to try to make a go of her marriage, it's clear that she's still struggling to move forward following Vinny's confusion over his sexuality.

So, when Gabby reveals to Vinny that she's made a big decision, will it be good news or bad for their future?

"What Gabby's had to deal with is enough to rock any marriage in its early weeks," our Emmerdale insider explains.

"But add to the fact that Gabby's previous fiancé was gay, and her mum Bernice also had a couple of partners over the years who turned out to be gay - it's no wonder Gabby's a bit paranoid."

Gabby may have told Vinny that they've drawn a line under everything that happened, but her actions speak louder than words when Vinny's mum Mandy catches her snooping in her new husband's phone.

When Gabby later questions Vinny over who he's been texting, his answer seems to satisfy her. Yet Mandy is still uncertain that her new daughter-in-law is as confident as she says she is.

After Mandy questions whether the couple are growing apart, Gabby is left with food for thought. Soon, she opens up to her husband.

"Gabby has made a big decision, and it's one that leaves Vinny totally blindsided," our source adds. "But what will it mean for the new Mr and Mrs Dingle?"

Emmerdale fans have recently seen village newcomer Lewis Barton offering to support Vinny amid his struggles. When we recently caught up with Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis, he spoke about the importance of this on-screen friendship - and whether it could turn into more.

Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards, he commented: "[It's] having someone from the queer community helping him and saying 'it's not weird to think these things, everyone's stories are different regarding their sexuality and they have different journeys'.

"It's very exciting to see that conversation, and how a new friendship might blossom as well.

"It's nice to see someone who's not sure about themselves being welcomed by someone who is very sure of themselves."

Asked whether friendship could blossom into a relationship, Bradley replied: "Who knows? Only time will tell. I think at the beginning it's definitely a friendship.

"I mean, every good relationship is based on friendship and that's a good starting point, definitely!"
