Hidden signs of diabetes you only see in the bedroom - Gloucestershire Live

A medical expert has revealed there are lesser-known symptoms of diabetes that both men and women will only notice during certain times of the day. Dr Michael Krychman, a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, explained that there are several diabetes indicators that become apparent in the bedroom.

Research from UCSF indicates that women living with diabetes report reduced levels of sexual satisfaction, with diabetic women receiving insulin therapy facing heightened risks of complications, reports Glasgow Live.

Dryness: Fluctuating blood sugar levels and hormonal shifts affect natural lubrication. Elevated blood sugar can also cause dehydration, resulting in dryness that makes intimate contact uncomfortable or painful.

Dr Krychman explained: "Vaginal dryness is not an uncommon feature with women with diabetes and fluctuations of poorly controlled sugar. Dryness can lead to pain during intercourse and decreased overall pleasure and satisfaction."

Reduced blood circulation: Diabetes can impair circulation, resulting in diminished blood flow to intimate areas. Dr Krychman noted: "We see a noted decline in blood flow with vascular changes associated with diabetes."

Neuropathy: Diabetes may cause nerve damage and loss of sensation, diminishing sensitivity during intimate moments. Dr Krychman stated: "Diabetes and nerve damage can cause changes in overall sensual sensation with decreased pleasure and satisfaction."
