The Chase star Shaun Wallace gives one-word response over Bradley Walsh 'exit'

Fan favourite Shaun Wallace has given his verdict on what might happen to The Chase if host Bradley Walsh ever decided to leave.

The pair have appeared on the ITV hit show since it first appeared on screens back in 2009.

The Chase remains as popular as ever but fans may be wondering how long some of its stars will go on for.

And Shaun, also known by quizzing nickname the Dark Destroyer, admitted Bradley's departure from The Chase might signal the end for the show, insisting he was "irreplaceable" as host.

When asked who could step into Bradley's shoes, he simply said 'nobody'.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, while hosting a quiz night in Liverpool's Bierkeller, Shaun said: "Nobody (could replace Bradley)."

"When asked if that means it could be "the end" of The Chase, Shaun replied: "Yes. If he goes then I think nobody else will be able to do it."

Shaun also told how he would never be afraid of going head-to-head with his fellow Chasers.

"I'd compete against any of them, and I'm sure they'd say the same thing," he said.

"You've got to believe in your own ability. My fellow colleagues are all very very good.

"They're tremendous but I'm not frightened of them. If I had to face them, I would always fully back myself."

The quizzer, who packed out the Liverpool venue, revealed being a household name from The Chase had not changed his life too much.

He said: "My life hasn't changed at all because I haven't let fame change me at all.

"It's wonderful to be in the public eye but I don't let it change me, apart from the fact that I'm probably one of the most recognisable faces in the country.

"This is downtime because I'm doing what I love. I do loads of charity quizzes all the time, I love it.

"It's my way of saying thank you to the public."

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Bradley confirmed he has no intentions of stepping down any time soon.

He said: "Until people say they've had enough and start switching off I'll do it.

"We've had such an extraordinary time together. It's the best job in the world."
