Vote: Who should be The Register-Guard's boys Athlete of the Week?

With the first month of the new year passing the halfway point it's time to compile the top performers in the Eugene area.

This week's Register-Guard boys Athlete of the Week nominees are:

Information about each nominee is listed below. Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving at registerguard.com/sports. The poll closes at 11 a.m. Thursday.

The freshman scored 17 points on Jan. 14 to lift the Lancers to a 64-36 win over Springfield.

The senior recorded a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double Jan. 17 in a 70-47 win against Crater two days after scoring 11 points in a 70-52 win at North Eugene.

The freshman won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.42 seconds and took second in the 100 butterfly in 1:04.10. Metzger, Josiah Hay, Juno Camu and Weston Graves won the 200 medley relay for the Highlanders in 1:57.38 on Jan. 17 in a home meet.

The senior scored 17 points Jan. 16 to lead the Falcons to a 76-46 win over La Pine.

The junior scored a team-high 23 points Jan. 13 to help the Billies to a 54-49 win over Elmira.
