Ducks Post Rare Achievements in 38-17 Pasting of Michigan in Ann Arbor

Oregon returned to Michigan Stadium for the first time since 2007, this time as a two-touchdown favorite. Seventeen years ago Dennis Dixon and Jonathan Stewart used speed, the deep ball and trickery to befuddle the Maize and Blue 39-7. This trip was another potent mix of efficiency and big plays, the number one Ducks leaving from Detroit with a 38-17 victory, running their 2024 record to 9-0.

It's the third time in Oregon football history that the team has reached 9-0, accomplished previously in 2010 and 2012. Both those seasons ended in disappointment, the team overwhelmed in the trenches in big games, losing 22-19 to Auburn in the National Championship in 2010, falling to #14 Stanford 17-14 at Autzen Stadium in 2012.

In their first year in the Big Ten Oregon becomes the first team to beat Michigan and Ohio State in the same year since Michigan State in 2015.

The persistent questions before the season were 1) Can Dan Lanning win big games? and 2) Is Oregon ready for the Big Ten? Both appear to have been answered emphatically.
