Rod Stewart Cancels More Shows in California and Nevada Due to Ongoing Health Battle

Rod Stewart is currently on tour, but it looks like the "I Don't Want To Talk About It" hitmaker is going to have to sit out a few stops. The 79-year-old rock star just announced that he has postponed two concerts in California and Nevada due to health complications.

Stewart made the announcement on his Instagram account last Friday. If you happen to have tickets to those shows, we recommend hanging onto your tickets so they will be honored on the postponed dates.

Last week, Stewart also had to cancel his celebratory 200th residency show in Las Vegas.

It's very likely that Rod Stewart will make a full recovery and his current tour will continue without a hitch. Though, Stewart has dealt with quite a few health issues this year. In addition to his current ailment, Stewart also dealt with strep throat and had to cancel his 200th residency set at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. That particular show would have taken place on August 7. The rock singer has been performing at The Colosseum since 2011.

"Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me," Stewart said in a statement at the time. "I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long."

Luckily, it looks like no additional tour dates or residency dates have been canceled. Stewart will also return to The Colosseum for a number of encore shows in 2025. The presale events for those shows are currently live on Ticketmaster.

Stewart has been frank about the fact that he's aging, and health ailments that wouldn't have been an issue when he was younger now pose a bigger threat. Though, he has said that while "most people" can work with strep throat, he simply can't. That being said, Stewart has also been realistic about his age and his ability to perform, though he remains very optimistic.

"I'm aware my days are numbered but I've got no fear," Stewart said in a recent interview with The Sun. "We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can."

We wish Rod Stewart a speedy recovery and a quick return to the stage.
