A Lanarkshire opticians has donated vital items to a Wishaw food bank to mark World Homeless Day.
The team at Specsavers Wishaw, which is based on the town's Main Street, have donated multiple bags of non-perishable items - including toiletries, dried pasta, coffee and biscuits - to the Wishaw Community Food Bank.
As part of a nationwide campaign for World Homeless Day, which took place on October 10, more than 180 Specsavers stores and Home Visits businesses held out-of-hours or pop-up clinics and invited those affected by any form of homelessness to make use of their services.
The Wishaw store got involved in the campaign with their donation, which will make a difference to those in the local community struggling with food poverty.
Tammy Cahill from the Wishaw Community Food Bank said: "We are seeing increased demand for our services during these challenging times and really appreciate the support and prayers from across the community.
"It is thanks to the support of the likes of Specsavers Wishaw that we can continue to serve the people of Wishaw and the surrounding area with food when they find themselves in need."
Specsavers Wishaw director Laura Baird added: "We are delighted to have played a small part in helping our local community as we approach the winter months.
"It can be a tough time for many, not just those experiencing homelessness, and we hope our food donation can go to help those who need it most."
