Is Mr Eazi preparing for a future in politics?

Music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs sentenced to more than four years in prison

Afrobeats star and entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has got fans talking after hinting at his interest in politics.

The singer made the revelation in a video shared on Snapchat on Saturday, where he spoke about his desire to contest for president of an African country sometime in the future.

"I have been thinking about it. I think it's time to share it with you guys. Some of you might be from some country, specifically in Africa, and you are looking for a president; a president who is not looking for money and power but forward-thinking, young, active and can move your country better. So, I'm officially putting myself forward for the presidency," he said.

Mr Eazi has always been more than just a singer. Over the years, he has built a name as a businessman, investor and cultural figure across Nigeria and Ghana. His time in Ghana shaped his Banku sound, a unique blend of Nigerian and Ghanaian rhythms that made him one of Afrobeats' standout voices.

His statement has stirred conversations online. Some fans see it as a joke. Others believe it could be a serious move in the coming years, especially with more celebrities showing interest in politics.

Actress Eniola Badmus once spoke about her plan to run for Senate. Former Senator Ben Bruce also predicted that Davido might one day become Governor of Osun State. Mr Eazi's statement adds his name to the growing list of entertainers who are looking beyond music and thinking about leadership.

Whether it is a passing thought or a real plan, the idea of Mr Eazi stepping into politics has already captured attention.
