Santiago Serna Santiago Serna was greeted by angels on Tuesday morning, January 14th, 2025 for his trip to our Dear Lord in Heaven. Santiago was born in the small town of Manzano in 1926 and married the love of his life, Mela. Mela passed in 2009. They made their home in the South Valley of Albuquerque in the Barelas area. They had five children. Joe, the oldest, went to meet our Dear Lord three years ago. Surviving children are Theresa (Larry), Felix (Lorraine), Susan (Mark) and Rudy (Virginia) and neice Josephine Nocera. Santiago was referred to as the Godfather of Drywall, which was his career until the age of 75. Even after 75, he would still work side-jobs. He taught his three sons the art of drywall. Santiago and Mela had many beautiful grand and great-grandchildren. Santiago is survived by two younger brothers, Phil and Morrise and two younger sisters, Griselda and Annie. Special mention to granddaughter Nina who was his caregiver and special buddy for many years. Thank you, Nina, for taking such good care of Santiago (Tata) for so very long, and with all your heart.
