ALBANY, N.Y. (WIS) - A small twin-engine plane that took off from Fairfield County on Friday morning made an emergency on an interstate in Albany.
The New York State Police Troop G said the small plane landed on the northbound side of Interstate 87 near Exit 23 around noon.
The plane was carrying three people including the pilot. Troopers said there did not appear to be any injuries.
According to FlightAware, a real-time flight tracker, the plane took off from the Fairfield County Airport in Winnsboro at 8:35 a.m.
FlightAware showed the plane started to lose elevation at 12:11 p.m. while 11,900 feet in the air and continued to descend rapidly.
A statement from the Federal Aviation Administration said a preliminary accident/incident report will be posted soon.
