Fans Air Frustration Over Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark Problem

The Indiana Fever have now won three of their four post-Olympic break games after an 84-79 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Monday night. The Fever still owns the seventh seed in the WNBA playoffs following the win but have increased its lead in the standings over other playoff contenders.

However, during the Fever vs. Dream, an ongoing problem with Clark's teammates reappeared multiple times.

Throughout the season, the Fever have had a constant problem of finishing wide-open shots on passes from Clark or even just catching the ball in general.

Two more instances occurred during the Dream battle, both coming within the final five minutes of the game when Atlanta had made the contest close.

The first came with 4:30 remaining in the game, where Temi Fagbenle received a pass from Clark in the paint, where she missed a wide-open layup.

The second came just a minute afterward, where Fagbenle once again blew an easy layup after a full-court pass from Clark.

WNBA fans have noticed this ongoing issue throughout the season and called out the Fever for taking away Clark's potential assists.

"Caitlin Clark gotta deal with infinite bunnies being missed at the rim by her teammates. Absolutely ridiculous"

"Caitlin Clark is leading the WNBA in assists only for her teammates to do this"

"Imagine how many assists per game Caitlin Clark would average if her teammates wouldn't blow these type of wide open layups"

"Bro listening to this live is crazy... they started to legit boo and groan at Clark's teammates"

"I don't know how Caitlin Clark broke the assists record, her teammates can't catch or finish."

"Because of things like this it is more difficult to get assists. Caitlin is lucky to have achieved 19 assists playing in the Fevers"

Despite this persistent issue, Clark is still leading the WNBA in assists with 8.3 per game. She also broke the WNBA record for most assists in a single game with 19 on July 17 against the Dallas Wings.
