'Give him the MVP now': National media reacts to Josh Allen's performance in Bills win over Lions

No matter what the Detroit Lions tried, the team had no answers for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen used his arm and legs to put on a clinic against one of the NFL's best teams. Allen scored four total touchdowns in the 48-42 win (2 rushing, 2 passing) and went over 400 yards of total offense. He threw for 362 yards on 23-of-34 pass attempts while rushing for 68 yards on 11 attempts (6.2 YPC). Allen found ways to keep drives alive and once again finished the game with no turnovers.

By handing the Lions their second loss of the season, Allen may have put the MVP conversation to rest. Several national media members certainly felt that way following Allen's big road win. Here's a look at what some media members were saying about Allen and why he deserves the title of most valuable player.

"There's no way Josh Allen doesn't win MVP after a performance like this on the road vs one of the best teams in the NFC. They already beat the Chiefs by 9 points too."

With victories over the top teams in both conferences, it is hard to disagree with Daniel. Allen has shown that he can lead the team to victories over the best teams in the league this season.

"MVP race is over."

Allen's top competition for the award heading into Sunday's game was Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. Barkley had a pedestrian day for Philadelphia with just 65 yards rushing on 19 attempts (3.4 YPC) while adding nine yards receiving on two receptions. Allen's performance certainly helped him pull away from the back on Sunday.

Wingo simply wrote MVP above a graphic displaying just how special Allen is as a player. Following today's win, Allen became the first player in NFL history to have 35 or more touchdowns in four consecutive seasons.

"We should all unanimously agree that Josh Allen is the NFL MVP. He has 10 touchdowns and 90 points in the last 2 weeks. He beat the #1 ranked team in the AFC and beat the #1 ranked team in the NFC."

Acho had predicted before the season that Allen and the Bills didn't have enough talent to compete. He has changed his tune after seeing Allen's play in 2024.

Perhaps the perfect GIF from Woody after Vince Carter joined Bills ownership.

"Last two weeks, both road games against good teams, Josh Allen put up 90 points, 10 touchdowns, no interceptions, and over 400 total yards in each game. Give him the MVP now."
