The Halton Hills Public Library is celebrating Ontario Public Library Week with a full lineup of in-person and virtual programs now through Oct. 25.
This year's theme highlights how libraries support residents through every stage of life, from early story times to lifelong learning.
The week features several key events, including a virtual author talk with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Yousafzai will discuss her memoir, "Finding My Way."
Registration is required for the online event.
Programs will be running at the Georgetown and Acton branches for all age groups.
Dark Academia Night at the Library on Oct. 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Georgetown branch Teens are invited to step into the world of dark academia and take a journey through the library's archives, partake in a scavenger hunt and enjoy tea and cookies. Registration is required.Cricut and Cocoa on Oct. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Acton branch Participants can use a Cricut Mug Press to design and create their own custom mug. A $5 materials fee and registration is required.Incandescence Film Screening on Oct. 24 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The John Elliott Theatre will show "Incandescence," an immersive film that follows the patterns of fire, weaving together on-the-ground footage with stories of survival and adaptation to wildfires.
