McDonald's staff help bring joy to families in Oxford

The Headington branch teamed up with Oxford's Ronald McDonald House to host a day of fun for families staying at the 'home away from home' accommodation.

The houses, located next to specialist NHS children's hospitals, allow families to be by their child's bedside in a matter of moments, while maintaining a degree of normality during difficult times.

Jodie Keeley and Darren Lyde from Northampton spent 95 days at the Oxford house after their quadruplets were born prematurely at John Radcliffe Hospital.

Ms Keeley said: "Without the lovely accommodation and generosity of Ronald McDonald House Oxford, our hospital journey would have been very different.

"We were able to remain close to our four babies, day and night, and for that we'll forever be grateful to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK."

Staff members from nearby McDonald's restaurants volunteered at the event, which included face painting, activities, and Happy Meals.

Ismail Anilmis, franchisee of the Headington McDonald's, said: "I'm so proud of my crew at the Oxford restaurant for volunteering to support our local house.

"When it comes to helping our local community, we love to lend our support where we can, and the team have done such a great job at the house party."

McDonald's is a founding partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities UK and has supported more than 100,000 families through donations and fundraising.
