Strictly Come Dancing star says which couple faces elimination 'no matter what' in brutal prediction - Manchester Evening News

A former Strictly Come Dancing star has made a brutal prediction about who could face the chop this weekend as the red carpet is rolled out for the show's Movie Week special.

Last weekend, the first couple was seen leaving the competition, with former Apprentice candidate Thomas Skinner and his professional dance partner having to say their goodbyes.

The pair found themselves in the series' first dance-off against former rugby star Chris Robshaw and his pro Nadiya Bychkova.

Both couples had to reprise their Saturday night routines before the judges gave their verdict and shared their final vote - which was overwhelmingly to save Chris and Nadiya.

It left 14 couples contuining into week three of the competition, which takes place on Saturday night (October 11) and will mark the first special of the series as Movie Week arrives in the ballroom.

However, there will be one less couple performing this weekend after it was announced on Friday (October 10) that Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis had to pull out of this weekend's Strictly show due to illness.

The 66-year-old and his dance partner Dianne Buswell will receive a bye to next week's show. A statement from Strictly on Instagram read: "Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend.

"In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week when they will hopefully be able to dance again."

But the remaining couples will still be performing for their place in the competition as another elimination will take place during Sunday's (October 12) results show.

Ahead of the next live show, former Strictly pro Ola Jordan has predicted who could be the one eliminated this weekend

It comes as the race for the Glitterball trophy is heating up, with YouTuber George Clarke emerging as the clear favourite and a few surprises shaking up the winner market.

Speaking on behalf of Mecca Bingo, Ola, who was a pro on the show from 2006 to 2015, has shared who she thinks will be at risk this weekend as she said: "Ross and Jowita won't perform well, so I expect them to be in the bottom two, possibly alongside Chris and Nadiya...."

"Looking at the dances and themes, I think Ross and Jowita will stay at the bottom of the leaderboard and be eliminated this weekend. They're the weakest couple, so no matter who they face in the bottom two, it will likely be them going home."

Meanwhile, Simon Kew, spokesperson for Grosvenor Sport, comments on the elimination market: "Chris Robshaw finds himself back in the spotlight after being in the dance-off last week, but he was saved by all four judges. That experience seems to have caught the attention of punters, as he's now joint favourite at 10/11 alongside Ross King to be the next eliminated."

"Ross has drifted out slightly from early market panic, but he's still under serious pressure. Ross and Chris are both dancing to the Paso Doble for Movie Week - a high-stakes dance that could make or break them."

"Stefan Dennis is the first of the longer odds at 5/1, while Ellie Goldstein and Balvinder Sopal are holding steady at 14/1 and 16/1 respectively, giving them some breathing room. Further down the market, George Clarke, Lewis Cope, and Vicky Pattison remain well clear of danger at 100/1."
