'The Handmaid's Tale' Kills Off Three Major Characters in Second-to-Last Episode of the Series

The final season of The Handmaid's Tale is nearing its end and the second-to-last episode of the series featured the deaths of some major characters.

The acclaimed Hulu series, starring Elisabeth Moss, will air its series finale on May 27.

The six-season series has been leading up to the rebellion within Gilead, with an uprising led by Elisabeth's character June Osborne.

Elisabeth directed both the penultimate episode and the series finale. She told THR, "I was in Paris shooting The Veil when they pitched us the whole season, outline by outline. I hung up from that meeting, and I said, 'I have to direct episode nine.' I humbly requested and they very kindly said yes."
