The actor and comedian called the awards show the 'most fun' she's had in her career
The Golden Globes hopes to be Pope-ular once again.
Today, CBS and the Golden Globes announced that comedian Nikki Glaser is returning to host the 83rd annual awards show. The event kicks off in January 2026 on Paramount's broadcast and streaming platforms.
"Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career," Glaser said in a statement. "I can't wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from The White Lotus who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past."
Helen Hoehne, president, Golden Globes, noted that Glaser, who was the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo, brought new energy to the show.
"Nikki Glaser brought a refreshing spark and fearless wit to the Golden Globes stage last year. Her sharp humor and bold presence set the tone for an unforgettable night, making the ceremony feel vibrant and, most of all, fun," said Hoehne.
Glaser's performance as host of the 82nd Golden Globes brought critical acclaim, with sketches and jokes such as her Pope-ular music mash-up of Conclave and Wicked going viral; however, the ratings were a mixed bag.
At the time of the show, Paramount had an ongoing dispute with measurement company Nielsen and used VideoAmp's ratings instead.
VideoAmp reported the show averaged 10.1 million viewers, which was on par with final numbers from 2024. However, Nielsen later reported an average of 9.3 million tuning in, which was a 2% decline from 2024 when initial numbers showed 9.4 million viewers.
In addition to the ratings, this year's event drove 40 million social interactions on the night, making it the most social Golden Globes ever, up 124% year over year, according to Paramount.
Dick Clark Productions will plan, host, and produce the annual Golden Globes, which airs on CBS and Paramount+ in the U.S.
