A Palestinian boy injured in the Israel-Hamas conflict arrived Saturday in the United States to receive medical treatment and a prosthetic leg, thanks to the support of Heal Palestine.
A young Palestinian boy named Amal, wounded in the Israel-Hamas conflict, arrived Saturday at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). He'll get needed medical care and a prosthetic leg paid for by donations to Heal Palestine.
The non-profit, donor-supported group taps volunteers and medical professionals to help Palestinian children.
A cheering crowd greeted Amal and his family.
"We think he'll be here for about three to six months. We have doctors that are ready to deal with him," said a spokesperson for Heal Palestine. "We've got the community to help him in whatever he needs."
Heal Palestine is hosting a fundraiser Sunday at the Embassy Suites in Raleigh to garner support for more Palestinian children in need of medical care.
