Former Indiana football coach celebrates 89th birthday

Lee Corso has become the face of ESPN's College Gameday over the years. Whether it's a "Not so fast," after a disagreement, or putting on a school's headgear to energize the home crowd, Corso always brings the energy on a Saturday morning before a massive slate of games.

Corso also has ties to the Big Ten during his coaching career. Hired by Indiana in 1973, he led the Hoosiers to their first bowl win against BYU 38-37 in 1979. Inducted to the Indiana Hall of Fame in 2010, Corso is the third-winningest coach in program history despite having a record of 41-68-2.

College Gameday's analyst coached two other programs during his tenure, the Louisville Cardinals and Northern Illinois Huskies. Corso's only other bowl appearance came with Louisville in 1970 where they tied Long Beach State.

Corso now enters his 37th year on College Gameday, and will be joined by a new guest on the show -- former Alabama head coach Nick Saban. Although it's been stated that he will have a limited role this upcoming season, we still look forward to Corso putting on that mascot headgear before a day full of college football kicks off
