The number of flu cases has increased significantly in the last week in Brasov County, with the first laboratory-confirmed flu cases of this cold season also being reported, the County Public Health Directorate (DSP) reported on Wednesday.
Thus, according to data transmitted by DSP Brasov, in the reporting week of December 2-7, 208 cases of clinical flu were registered, compared to 36 cases reported in the previous week, and 3 cases of laboratory-confirmed flu.
Also, overall, at the county level, the number of cases of respiratory infections increased, with 2,029 cases registered, compared to 1,583 in the previous week.
According to the cited source, the age group most affected by flu illnesses was that of children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 14 - this category accounting for almost half of the cases - 93 out of a total of 208 cases.
The next age groups with the highest number of flu illnesses were 15-49 years old, with 49 cases, and 2-4 years old, with 40 cases.
