BARROW AFC midfielder Regan Booty says he is looking forward to getting back to playing football following his loan move.

Booty has joined National League side Boreham Wood on loan until January21, and says footballing style was a big reason for the move.

Speaking to Boreham Wood's official YouTube channel, he said: "It's come around really quick. I only first found out about the interest (on Sunday), so it's probably took two or three hours to get it all sorted.

"I'm really happy to be here. I think this club has got plaudits for all the right reasons this season from the first 15 to 20 games for the way they are playing football.

"So, as soon as the interest was there, it was the perfect place for me to go and play and start enjoying my football again, and get loads more games under my belt.

"I spoken to a couple of lads here, who I know, which is nice when you come to a new club.

"I've have a really positive conversation with the gaffer about what he wants from me, what he wants from his team.

"The style of football was massive for me. I think for the last two years I have been part of a team that was a really footballing team, which got the best out of me.

"Then obviously this year has changed for me."

Booty, joined The Bluebirds for an undisclosed fee in the summer, signing a three-year deal.

But of late he has found game time limited and agreed the loan switch.

Booty started his career with Huddersfield Town, captaining their under-23 side before gaining senior experience on loan at Aldershot Town.

He left Terriers following their relegation from the Premier League.

He then joined Notts County, where he made 13 league starts and scored twice.

Spells at Maidstone United and Gateshead followed.

During an impressive spell in the north-east, he enjoyed a top seven play-off finish during the 2023/24 season, and scored in the Heed's 2024 FA Trophy triumph at Wembley.
