Jason Manford has issued an honest update on a 'nightmare' health scare during an interview on the One Show this evening (September 2).
Last month, the 44-year-old comedian from Salford told fans he "collapsed" while waiting to be seen in hospital.
Some of his tour dates had to be cancelled, and in a statement posted to the comedian's social media channels, his representatives confirmed three dates over the next three days have been rescheduled.
The statement, posted to Jason's Instagram and Facebook pages, read: "Oxford, New Theatre will move from 31st July 2025 to the 16th November 2025. Lincoln, The Engine Shed will move from 1st August 2025 to the 7th September 2025. Skegness, Embassy Hall will move from the 2nd August to the 15th February 2026.
"Thank you for your understanding and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
After the news, Jason confirmed that he had to undergo appendix surgery after suddenly falling ill. Alongside a picture of him recovering from his op in his hospital bed, the star shared: "Appendix surgery all went well, now in recovery with my Vimto, they serve it in all Manchester hospitals
"Bit of a scary & extremely painful 24 hours but thankful to our NHS & my incredible nurse mum who's a godsend in a health crisis! My advice would be to not get Appendicitis whilst driving at 70mph on the motorway!
"Seriously though, I'm gutted that I've had to move the dates this weekend, and I'm sorry for the late notice to so many people in St Albans, Oxford, Lincoln, Skegness & at Kendall Calling. I thought I could get by on antibiotics and surgery at a later date so I could still do the shows, but was advised not to.
"Also means I can't fly out to Portugal on Monday to join my family on holiday! Ah well, such is life. Thanks for all the 'Get Well Soon' messages."
During Tuesday's (September 2) installment of The One Show, presenter Alex Jones asked Jason how he was doing following the surgery as she expressed her concern.
Jason replied: "It was painful. It just took me down. I got home, like I said my mum's a nurse, I said 'oh it's painful this mum'... An hour later I was like morphine drip in an hospital at Salford Royal, who were fantastic.
"So yeah, appendix, a nightmare!"
As Alex asked how he was doing now, Jason added: "I'm absolutely fine, four weeks on and I'm good."
