"It sounded like fun," Janecke said. "We have some friends here and we're all going to drive down to school together."
Janecke's overtime goal in April lifted the U.S. to a 4-3 win over Canada in the gold-medal game at the women's world championship in the Czech Republic.
She didn't get to keep the puck as a souvenir.
"I'm not sure where it is," she said with a laugh. "I also lost my stick. I threw it into the crowd, so I never got that back."
She does, however, have the gold medal.
"That's all that matters at the end of the day," she said.
Janecke has won two gold medals and a silver on three trips to the women's world championship, but she doesn't feel like a fixture on the team yet.
