Defense grills Combs' former assistant on social media posts; work history

WASHINGTON (TNND) -- Sean "Diddy" Combs' former assistant, testifying under the pseudonym "Mia," returned to the stand Friday. She described a toxic work environment dominated by Combs' unpredictable and terrifying behavior, including blackmail. Testimony from former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani makes her the most effective ex-assistant to testify.

"Not only did she corroborate the testimony of the prior witnesses, she was a victim herself," said Rahmani.

"Mia" told the court she still has PTSD, and trying to work has been difficult. "I would have to leave because I would be triggered by really normal situations with like an overwhelming sense of fear," she testified.

The defense began their cross-examination Friday. Attorney Brian Steel grilled "Mia" on why she continued to work for Combs after testifying about physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.

"I was young and manipulated and eager to survive," she said.

Steel also pressed her about social media posts she made, praising Combs.

"Saying how much she loved him and how he was such a great friend and mentor. So they're going after her more aggressively than some of the other victims in the case," Rahmani said.

Steel also suggested "Mia" made up the sexual assault allegations. "Mr. Combs never had unwanted nonconsensual forcible sexual contact with you, isn't that true?" Steel asked. "What I said in this courtroom is true. I have not lied to anyone at all," she responded.

"Mia" will be back on the stand Monday to finish cross-examination. Prosecutors also said they will call a forensic video expert and iHeart radio host, among others, to the stand as well.
