Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James skipped college basketball and went straight to the NBA after high school.

According to 247 Sports, James had offers from top basketball programs like North Carolina, Ohio State, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, and Michigan State. However, in 2003, high school players were still allowed to jump directly to the NBA without spending a year in college.

With James ranked as the nation's top high school prospect and expected to be the first overall pick, entering the 2003 NBA Draft was a clear choice.

His decision has certainly paid off. Now in his 22nd season, James has made over $475 million from his NBA salary alone while also winning four championships and making a case for being the greatest to ever play the game.

Through Saturday night, James' subconscious thoughts took over, dreaming of playing college basketball for the legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski at Duke.

He revealed the details of it once he woke up on Sunday morning.

"Just woke up from having a dream I was playing for Duke for Coach K inside Cameron Indoor Stadium!" James posted on X. "It was INSANE in there. Told Coach K it was an honor to suit up for him and he said the same thing back to me. He's such a LEGEND! Then....."

While James is a big Ohio State fan, if he had opted to play for the Duke instead of entering the 2003 NBA draft, he would have been part of a team that made the Final Four. Perhaps James would have given the Blue Devils the extra boost they needed to win the national championship.

That Duke team included his current Lakers head coach JJ Redick, Luol Deng, Daniel Ewing, Shelden Williams, Chris Duhon, and Shavlik Randolph.
