Barnet manager Dean Brennan rued his side being "wasteful" in front of goal during the 1-1 draw with Harrogate.
Brennan said improvements are needed from the Bees to halt their poor run of form.
Barnet led after 23 minutes through Britt Assombalonga but missed the chance to extend their advantage before half-time when Mark Shelton's penalty was superbly saved by Harrogate goalkeeper James Belshaw.
Harrogate levelled from a well-worked corner, Anthony O'Connor flicking on for Jack Muldoon to nod home and stretch Barnet's winless league run to six matches.
"Really wasteful, more than we've ever been, and our wastefulness has cost us today. We can only blame ourselves," Brennan said.
"I wanted to forget the first 20 minutes, but after that I thought we were on top, especially in the second half. We had loads of glorious opportunities we don't take, and we don't put the game to bed.
"We've been woeful in front of goal in the last six games, so the players have to keep working. It's criminal we couldn't take advantage of Harrogate's injuries. Everyone expects us to just come here and win, but we've only ourselves to blame."
He added: "Harrogate's only shot on goal was when they scored. Adam Senior had to stay with their man.
"The last five games have been so frustrating because we've played well in so many phases and been the dominant team. Our substitutes made an impact, but not the one I wanted, because one of them should have scored. The lads have to get over the mental block, produce the goods and raise the standards."
Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver praised his side's "excellent team spirit" and hopes the result can spark a climb out of the relegation places.
"The lads showed excellent team spirit to fight back and deserved a point," said Weaver. "We were excellent in the first 20 minutes and played some really slick football. We didn't look like a bottom-two team and I'm proud of how the lads acquitted themselves.
"We were always in the game and when we started to play more on the floor, it led to more moments at their end. The equaliser was fitting because Jack [Muldoon] epitomised that fighting spirit.
"It's down to attitude and I've had to tighten things up a bit at the club. It's frustrating we didn't take advantage of our good early play - confidence levels probably stopped us breaking the deadlock.
"The whole team filled gaps well. The defenders had tough duels with Idris Kanu, who is very skilful, and dealt with what they could."
Weaver was disappointed with the goal conceded and he said: "We can't concede scruffy goals. The first mistake led to a great striker's finish for them. But we kept it tight, and in the last few games we've looked better defensively - we just need to score more.
"We must keep the same standards: stay in games, be resilient and pass the ball. When we pass it, we're a better team."
