Both sides are interested in creating conditions as soon as possible for a meeting between Putin and Trump, said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, all parties are interested in defining the initial conditions for a possible meeting between Putin and Trump as quickly as possible.
Peskov said that it is currently difficult to predict when such conditions will be created and added that Moscow and Washington have emphasized the importance of the meeting being substantive and well-prepared.
The Kremlin official also responded to a question about the planning of a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul. He refused to confirm this information.
He noted that the Kremlin currently has no information to provide on this issue. Peskov emphasized that there are expert-level contacts regarding the prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine and that negotiations are ongoing.
