Milnthorpe-based soprano marks 30 years of vocal coaching

A Milnthorpe-based soprano is celebrating 30 years of teaching with a fresh new look for her singing studio.

Tracie Penwarden has spent three decades supporting singers across Cumbria.

To celebrate the milestone, she has unveiled a new look for her studio and reaffirmed her commitment to helping people find "joy" in singing through "evidence-based vocal training."

Ms Penwarden said: "This milestone felt like the right time to reflect on what matters most.

"For me, teaching has never been about perfection or prestige - it's about helping people trust their voice, use it safely, and find joy in expressing themselves."

Ms Penwarden is one of only a few teachers worldwide to hold the Vocal Process Accredited Teacher accreditation.

Her career has taken her to stages including the Royal Albert Hall and L'Eglise de la Madeleine in Paris.

She now teaches from her studio in Milnthorpe, working with singers of various ages and abilities.

Over the past 30 years, she has coached both beginners and seasoned professionals.

She has contributed to the wider community as musical director for Arnside Choral Society, That Face Theatre Company, and her award-winning vocal ensemble, OttoVoce.

A spokesperson for the studio said: "The rebrand of Tracie Penwarden Singing Studio introduces a new visual identity inspired by the idea of the voice as a living instrument - symbolised through organic ripple and radial forms, representing resonance, growth, and connection."

Ms Penwarden said: "Every voice is unique, and it's alive - constantly adapting, responding, and growing.

"That's what this new chapter is all about: celebrating individuality, curiosity, and the lifelong journey of learning."

Ms Penwarden has been praised by students for making music "fun, confidence-building, and like therapy."

To mark the anniversary, she will launch a new website, deliver vocal health workshops, and continue supporting choirs and singers across Cumbria.
