SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) -- Happy Monday, Utah! Monday is the official Autumnal Equinox at 12:19 MDT. A weak front is moving through northern Utah this afternoon bringing clouds, a few showers, and cooler temperatures. The best chance of rain will be across Cache Valley, Ogden Valley, and the Wasatch Front through early Monday afternoon, with higher rain chances for the Uintas and Castle Country occurring later Monday afternoon.
We will see below average temperatures for northern Utah for the first official afternoon of Fall. Highs will only be in the low to mid 70s for most of northern Utah Monday. High temperatures will remain summer-like in the upper 80s to low 90s for SW Utah Monday afternoon.
High pressure builds back over the region Tuesday bringing plenty of sunshine and still pleasant, fall-like temperatures. Highs for northern Utah will warm into the low to mid 70s with morning lows well down into the 50s. Highs will warm into the low 90s for SW Utah with plenty of sun Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday will bring plenty of sunshine but warmer conditions. Highs will climb to near 80 for northern Utah, with highs in the mid 90s for SW Utah.
Clouds will begin to increase across southern Utah on Thursday and Friday, with isolated storm chances returning to the area. Highs will remain in the 90s. Northern Utah will stick with the sunshine to wrap up the week with highs in the lower 80s.
Moisture begins to pool across southern Utah this weekend, so look for daily isolated storm chances for the region. Due to the extra moisture highs will drop back into the upper 80s for SW Utah, with highs in the lower 80s for northern Utah. An isolated shower could work it's way up towards northern Utah by late this weekend.
