Mentor Public Library announced it is offering four free computer classes this November at its Lake Branch, including introductions to Microsoft Word and Excel.
The classes will be:
* Word I at 2 p.m. Nov. 5. Attendees can learn how to use Microsoft Word to create and save documents, as well as select text and change its formatting.
* Basic Email at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5. Learn how to send, reply to, label and archive emails, as well as how to send attachments.
* Word II at 2 p.m. Nov. 12. Attendees can learn more advanced techniques for Microsoft Word, including how to use mini toolbars, spell check and Word's built-in thesaurus and adjust spacing, alignment, margins and orientation.
* Excel I at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12. In this class, people will learn how to describe a worksheet and its function; create a basic worksheet and learn how to save it. Microsoft Word experience is necessary to take this class.
All of the classes are free. However, registration is required and opens Oct. 22. Anyone can sign up at www.mentorpl.org or by calling the library's Lake Branch at 440-257-2512.
The Lake Branch is located at 5642 Andrews Road in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
