Trump Announces White House Ballroom Will be 'A Little Bigger' Than Initially Planned

President Donald Trump told NBC News on Saturday that his controversial new White House ballroom would be "a little bigger" than initially planned.

In a telephone interview with NBC News, Trump revealed that the planned capacity for the ballroom was now set to be nearly 40% bigger. The ballroom will be able to hold a maximum capacity of 900 people - a significant increase over the original planned maximum capacity of 650.

"We're making it a little bigger," he said. "It will be top of the line, as good as it can get anywhere in the world."

Development of the new ballroom is estimated to cost at least $200 million.

Asked on Thursday how he was "holding up" after the murder of his friend and ally Charlie Kirk the day prior, Trump replied, "I think very good, and by the way, right there, you see all the trucks? They've just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get, as you know, for about 150 years."

The president boasted, "It's gonna be a beauty. Absolutely magnificent construction. We just started, so it'll get done very nicely. And it will be one of the best anywhere in the world, actually."
