The conversation was described as a crisis discussion, after which Cavenagh is said to have publicly backed Martin and reaffirmed his confidence in the head coach.

Aberdeen midfielder Dante Polvara has indicated he would be receptive to extending his stay, but made clear that regular playing time is a key factor for him. He emphasised that consistent minutes on the pitch will play a major role in any decision over a new deal.
